Sunday Prep Vol. 54
The week where we decide 3 things and use what we have.
Simplify your mornings by deciding these 3 things the night before.
What you’re wearing
What you’re eating
Where you need to be and when
Three decisions made the night before can completely change the feeling of a morning. Teach your kids to do the same — it’s a habit that sticks!
Something to do today:
Do a small bit of meal prep today — chop a few vegetables, cook a pot of grains, or prepare a sauce you can use later in the week.
Something to do this week:
Set one simple morning anchor for summer — even just coffee outside or a ten-minute walk before the day starts. It doesn’t have to be a full routine, just one small thing that feels like it belongs to you
Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs
Page 153 in The Simplified Cookbook
Ingredients:
3 lb pork spareribs
1 yellow onion
1 (18 oz) bottle barbecue sauce
Directions:
Season all sides of ribs with salt and pepper, rubbing seasonings in for extra flavor.
Add ribs to the slow cooker.
Chop onion and add it on top.
Pour barbecue sauce over ribs and onions.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Remove from the slow cooker and serve.
Who said you have to put the crockpot away for summer?! Easy is always in season. Pair these with your fave bbq sides for a fun dinner this week.
Get ahead of your week & make time for the things on your agenda!
Clean the inside of the microwave.
Wipe down pantry shelves.
Plan one intentional no-screen evening this month.
Schedule any annual checkups or appointments for the kids before fall.
Prepare Father’s Day gifts and organize the plans.
👇What else are you putting in your planner this week?
When we get to finally start using our Simplified products, it’s the most exciting! The new Can Coolers are SO fun for summer ... watch out for people taking them from you!
Liz texted from maternity leave that she will be buying this dress in every color, especially the gingham.
Liz also got these double strap sneakers for her toddler. So cute in navy and easy for him to put on himself!
Coolest sneakers for dad. Father’s Day is June 21!
Another really great Father’s Day gift idea for the watch guy.
Brittany reported back that this pullover and pants made for the best travel set all the way to and home from Italy. 10/10 update for a travel pro!
We need to know: Is everyone watching Off Campus, or is that just us?
The most flattering swimsuit and belt Emily can’t stop talking about!
If you’ve gotta do it, at least make it CUTE. This involves walking the dog, IYKYK.
Brittany’s next summer read. It just released this week!
Dusty’s exact words for this dress: “not too dressy for everyday-around-the-house-but-could-run-to-the-store in if needed.” And that’s the kind of dresses we’re here for!
Each week, we're answering your real-life questions — about routines, meal ideas, work-life balance, favorite movies, and everything in between. Got a question? Leave it in the comments!
Q: “What’s your favorite summer meal or treat?”
Emily: We love grilling burgers on the back porch — and Mexican corn salad (so delicious!)
Brittany: We LOVE burgers and pasta salad! It’s on repeat for summer in our house. Followed usually by a tall, drippy ice cream cone with all the summer giggles!
Whitney: Anything with tomatoes from the garden! The taste of summer is locally grown ‘maters 🤤 Pico de gallo, tomato and mayo sandwiches, slices with salt — you just can’t go wrong.
Dusty: Living in Florida means grilling and ice cream happen year-round, but summer produce makes it extra special. I love building meals around fresh Florida sweet corn and tomatoes when they’re at their peak. Simple grilled dinners with fresh sides just feel like summer on a plate. Add ice cream afterward and it’s perfect.
Laura: A margarita and some fresh salsa!
Carly: Fish tacos, chips and mango salsa, and a margarita nearby... that’s summer in a nutshell for me!
Lindsey: COLD watermelon! It’s dessert every night in the summer at my house.
Liz: We do a grilled chicken strawberry salad in the summer that hits the spot every time. Blackened chicken on the grill on top of mixed greens, strawberries, goat cheese, and a balsamic dressing. Followed by a warm fruit cobbler with vanilla ice cream, are you kidding?! Delish.
🩷 Have a question for our team? Leave it in the comments and your Q might be featured next week!

Working from anywhere is always a perk, but a coffee shop playing Mulan? Carly definitely won the editing-workday lottery. ☕️✨
The “Use What You Have” Challenge
Before buying something new this week, pause and see if you already have something that can do the job.
Maybe it’s the beautiful journal you’ve been saving for a “special occasion.” Maybe it’s the candle tucked away in a drawer, the recipe you’ve bookmarked but never made, or the summer top hanging in your closet that you’ve completely forgotten about.
A few more ideas:
Use the pretty stationery you’ve been saving.
Read the book that’s been on your nightstand instead of ordering a new one.
Make a recipe from ingredients you already have.
Pull out a game or craft project that’s collecting dust.
Shop your own home for new decor.
Use the nice dishes on Monday night.
Dig through your freezer and challenge yourself to make a meal from what you find.
Sometimes the best things are already sitting right in front of us — we just need a reminder to enjoy them!
If you take on the challenge, tell us in the comments what you rediscovered this week.
How can you be more present and less rushed this month?
